What it costs
What's the cheapest way to get my part?
PAXI to your nearest PEP store β R60, anywhere in South Africa. It takes 7β9 working days and you collect it from the PEP, PEPhome, PEPcell, Tekkie Town or Shoe City you chose. Free if you're in Sandton and can collect from our Wynberg workshop, and free on any order over R3 000.
Why is delivery sometimes more than the part I'm buying?
It used to be, and that's exactly why we added PAXI. Couriers charge by parcel size, not distance β a R79 sprocket costs the same to send as a R790 one. PAXI moves small parcels through the PEP network for a fraction of that, which is how we get a single cable or a set of pads to you for R60 instead of R108 or more.
Does it cost more to send to Cape Town than to Pretoria?
No. PAXI is one price to any PAXI point in the country, and our courier prices main centres identically. Only genuinely outlying towns cost a little more, and the checkout shows you that price before you pay β no surprises after.
How do I get free delivery?
Spend R3 000 or more in one order and delivery is free anywhere in South Africa, by whichever method you pick. Your cart tells you how much more you need to add. Bulky items like tyres are the one exception β they still carry a courier charge. And collecting from our Sandton workshop is always free, whatever you spend.
Why is there a R60 extra charge on my tyre?
Tyres, exhausts and body panels are big. A 17-inch tyre is about 62 cm across β the largest PAXI bag is 51 cm, so PAXI is physically impossible. Couriers charge us by the space a parcel takes up, not what it weighs, so a tyre is charged like a 19 kg parcel. The R60 covers the box and the handling. If you can collect from Sandton, there's no charge at all.
Are the prices I see including VAT?
Yes. Every price on the site, delivery included, is the final price including VAT. What the checkout shows is what you pay.
Collecting at PEP (PAXI)
What is PAXI?
PAXI is PEP's parcel service. Your part travels to a PEP store near you and waits there until you fetch it. There are over 2 800 PAXI points across South Africa β in PEP, PEPhome, PEPcell, Tekkie Town and Shoe City stores, including in townships and small towns most couriers don't reach cheaply. You don't need an account, a card or a contract.
How do I find my PAXI point code?
When you pick a PAXI option at checkout, tap "Find my nearest PAXI point" and the official PAXI map opens right there. Search your suburb, pick the store, and type its code into the box. The code is the letter P followed by four numbers β for example P0651 for PEP Florida. It's also on a sign in every participating store's window. If you're stuck, WhatsApp us the name of your closest PEP and we'll find the code for you.
What if I type the wrong store code?
We check every code against the PAXI map before we post anything. If it doesn't match a real store, or the code and the store name you gave us don't agree, we WhatsApp you rather than guess. Once a parcel is in the network we can't redirect it β which is why we'd rather spend a minute checking.
How will I know it's arrived?
PAXI sends you an SMS the moment your parcel reaches the store, and we email you the tracking number when it leaves us. You can also track it yourself at paxi.co.za or in the PAXI app.
What do I need to bring to collect it?
Your ID and the collection PIN PAXI SMSes you. If someone else is fetching it for you, they need their own ID plus written permission from you β a WhatsApp message with your ID photo is usually accepted, but confirm with the store.
How long will the store hold my parcel?
14 days. After that it's sent back to us. We'll refund the parts but not the delivery, and you'd pay delivery again to have it resent β so please fetch it as soon as the SMS arrives.
Can PAXI deliver to my house instead?
Yes. Choose "PAXI β delivered to your door" at checkout: R120 and 3β5 working days. You skip the trip to PEP entirely.
Why can't I see the PAXI option on my order?
Three possible reasons, all of them physical:
β’ Your basket is over 10 kg β that's more than the biggest PAXI bag can carry.
β’ Your basket has a bulky item in it β a tyre, exhaust or body panel that won't fit a bag.
β’ Your basket has oil, brake fluid, coolant, chain lube or an aerosol in it β PAXI does not carry liquids, flammables or gas.
β’ Your order is over R2 500 β we send higher-value orders by tracked courier so they're properly insured.
In each case we show you Fastway courier and free Sandton collection instead.
Is there a per-kilogram charge over 10 kg? No. PAXI has no per-kilogram overage β 10 kg is a hard bag limit, so anything heavier needs a second whole bag at full price. Two bags come to R240, which is within about R20 of a courier quote that arrives in 1β3 working days as one tracked parcel instead of 7β9 days as two. So above 10 kg we show you the courier. On the rare basket where two bags genuinely saves you real money, the checkout offers it automatically and tells you upfront that your order will arrive as two parcels.
Is my parcel insured?
PAXI covers up to R500 as standard. On anything above that we buy PAXI's extra cover for you at our cost β you pay nothing more. Orders over R2 500 go by Fastway, which is fully tracked and covered by the carrier.
How long it takes
How soon do you send my order?
In-stock parts are packed and dispatched within 1 working day. If anything is out of stock or has to be ordered in, we tell you the same day β and you can cancel for a full refund if you don't want to wait.
I need it urgently. What's the fastest?
Collection from our Sandton workshop β same day on stocked parts. After that, Fastway courier at 1β3 working days. PAXI Express is 3β5 working days and standard PAXI is 7β9. If a bike is off the road and earning nothing, the courier fee is usually the cheaper option overall.
Do weekends and public holidays count?
No. All delivery times are in working days β Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays β and they start the day your parcel leaves us, not the day you order.
My parcel is late. What now?
Check the tracking number in your dispatch email first. If it's more than two working days past the estimate, WhatsApp us on 084 276 9999 with your order number and we'll chase the carrier ourselves. You won't be left to argue with a call centre.
Ordering & paying
Do I have to create an account?
No. Check out as a guest β name, address, pay, done. If you'd like faster checkout next time, tick "save my details" at the bottom of the checkout and we'll create your account for you. No extra forms, no password to invent.
How do I know a part fits my bike?
Ask us before you order. WhatsApp 084 276 9999 with your make, model and year β there's a button on every product page that fills the message in for you. We answer in minutes during working hours. This is the single best way to avoid a return, and it costs you nothing.
Can I collect from the workshop?
Yes, and it's free. Choose "Collect at Mr Bikes, Wynberg Sandton" at checkout. We're at Unit 7 Chaka Centre, 4 5th Street, Wynberg, Sandton β MonβFri 8:00β17:00, Sat 9:00β13:00, closed Sundays and public holidays. Wait for our message before you drive out, so you're not making the trip for nothing.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering?
If the parcel hasn't left us, yes β WhatsApp us straight away. Once it's in the PAXI or courier network it can't be redirected, so please double-check your address and store code before you pay.
Do you deliver outside South Africa?
Not at the moment. We deliver within the borders of South Africa only β including the free-over-R3 000 offer.
Can you deliver a whole motorcycle?
Not by courier. Complete bikes are collected from Sandton or delivered by arrangement β talk to us and we'll quote you properly.
Returns
What's your return policy in one sentence?
7 days to change your mind on unused, unfitted parts in their original packaging, and 6 months on anything faulty β with limits on electrical parts, oils and anything already fitted, which are spelt out on every product page before you pay.
Why can't I return a bulb or an electrical part?
Because once it's been fitted, nobody can tell a factory fault from a wiring fault. A bulb on the wrong polarity or the wrong voltage burns out in seconds and looks identical to one that failed on its own. Accepting those returns would mean putting the cost onto every other customer's prices, and we won't do that.
But if it arrived broken, or it was dead straight out of the packet before you tried to fit it, send us a photo or a short video within 48 hours and we replace it free β we pay the shipping both ways. And if you're unsure how it wires up, ask us first. We'd rather spend two minutes on WhatsApp than have you lose a part.
Why can't I return oil?
Once a container has left us, we have no way to verify that what comes back is what we sent. We won't sell a fluid we can't vouch for to the next rider. If it arrives leaking or damaged, or if we sent you the wrong grade and the seal is unbroken, that's on us and we sort it out immediately. Not sure which oil your bike takes? Send us the make, model and year first.
Can I return a tyre?
Only if it hasn't been fitted. A tyre that's been mounted on a rim carries permanent marks on the bead and can't be resold. Unfitted, unmarked and in original condition, the standard 7-day return applies. Check the size on your sidewall before you fit it.
Who pays the return shipping?
If you changed your mind or ordered the wrong part, you do β PAXI at R60 is the cheap way to do it. If we sent the wrong part, or it arrived damaged, or it's genuinely faulty, we pay every cent.
My parcel arrived damaged. What do I do?
Photograph it before you unpack it further, ideally at the counter, and point it out to the PEP or courier staff. Then WhatsApp us the photos within 48 hours. We handle the claim with the carrier ourselves and get a replacement moving β you don't have to deal with them.
How long does a refund take?
We inspect returns within 2 working days of receiving them, and refund to your original payment method within 7 working days of approving it. Your bank may take another day or two to show it.
Do I get my delivery fee back?
On a change-of-mind return, no β the delivery already happened. If the part was faulty, wrong or damaged, yes, in full, plus what it costs you to send it back.
